Techneos^® Systems recently released a public beta of Entryware™ 6.0, the latest major version of the Entryware software platform for mobile survey automation.

The most significant addition to Entryware 6.0 is a new data collection product, Entryware Mobile for Windows^®, which supports both face-to-face interviews and self-completed surveys using almost any Windows-based computer. True to Techneos' focus on mobile survey computing, Entryware Mobile for Windows is optimized as a point-of-experience research tool for use on Tablet PCs, Ultra-Mobile PCs and touch-screen kiosks. But the product works on any PC running Windows 98 or later, and provides functionality that meets or exceeds that of other high-end Windows survey tools-at a very competitive price point.

Building on the robust functionality of previous Entryware versions, Entryware 6.0 adds these key new features:

• Multi-modal deployment to handheld computers and Windows PCs from a common authoring environment

• Audio capture and playback

• Image display

• Video playback (Windows only)

• Suspend/resume functionality to retain full state information for multiple open surveys

• Localizable interface for Entryware Designer and Entryware Mobile products (single- or double-byte character sets)

• Data export to card column and Quantum™ formats

• Debug window for monitoring data values during questionnaire testing (Windows only)

• Expanded point-and-click control over question display and behavior

• Extensible scripting using VB Script^® and JScript^® (Windows only)

• Response masks for open-ended text (Windows only)

Furthermore, Entryware 6.0 is seamlessly integrated with Remark Office OMR^® software, which provides a common command center for managing and reporting Entryware data in conjunction with Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) scanning and web surveys. Entryware 6.0 also adds support for the latest versions of SPSS^® Base and SPSS^® Dimensions™, enabling integration with a broad range of tools for questionnaire authoring, data collection, reporting and analysis.
